      The research work presented in this book received the PhD Thesis award from the French association for natural language processing (ATALA). Author Bios Estelle Maryline Delpech holds a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Nantes in France, where she specialized in natural language processing and computer-aided translation.   Dr. Waibel is an IEEE Fellow and received many awards for pioneering work on multilingual and multimodal speech communication and translation. He published extensively (> publications, >24, citations, h-index 80) in the field and received/filed numerous patents. During his career, Dr. Waibel founded and built 10 successful companies.

      You cannot use the scanned pages to translate from German to English. Once you scan the book, it would be saved as a picture image and you cannot use the picture image to translate the language. You need to have these pages in other formats like word which can be edited and then you can copy it from there and try to use it for translation. Books exist in an endless variety. For us as a translation agency, that means we will need to determine what translator to use for each individual book. Not only the source and target languages play a role here; the translator must also be experienced with the subject. As such, we will only allow a book.
